For my annual Day 1 photo journey this year I headed East to find winter - a few kilometers away it was like Winter had drawn back the curtain on an ice storm. The starkness of the line was amazing. On the one side, brown, green and glistening branches, on the other, everything white and ice-encrusted with trees struggling to their branches under the weight of the ice. It was beautiful and bitterly cold and I was glad to have a warm car to run to between shots. Images below.
